Nova Trio present an eclectic take on the Flamenco, Latin and Jazz repertoire, as well as original compositions infused by diverse rhythms and musical backgrounds. This international trio hailing from Chile, Spain and the UK fuse their wealth of diverse musical tradition from classical music to gypsy jazz.
Few acoustic guitarists in Europe can compose and play with such personality and technical skill as Jorge Bravo.
Born in Santiago de Chile, he works as a concert guitarist, composer, producer and teacher. He has a unique style of virtuoso performance with a wide range of influences from classical and flamenco to gypsy jazz and Latin American styles.
Jorge has played in prestigious venues around the UK such as the Royal Albert Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall and the Womad festival, and in some of the most renowned theatres and festivals throughout Europe.
In June 2006 his talents were internationally recognised when he won a first prize at the 'Niño Ricardo International Guitar Competition' held in Murcia, Spain.
After studying at Berklee College of Music, joined the Clark Tracey Quintet, Julian Joseph Quartet and Nigel Kennedy’s Wasp Factory.
While living in New York he played with the Duke Ellington Orchestra and joined the Dave Brubeck Quartet. Alec performs with Cleo Laine, Jacqui Dankworth, Georgie Fame and Van Morrison.
The Alec Dankworth Trio's debut album ‘If You’re Passing By’ was released in 2003.
Alec has performed with Mose Allison, Guy Barker, Stephanne Grappelli, Johnny Griffin, Abdullah Ibrahim, Marian McPartland, Courtney Pine, George Shearing, Tommy Smith, Clark Terry and Mel Torme.
He has performed at Carnegie Hall, the Hollywood Bowl, the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Albert Hall.
Originally from Barcelona, Demi studied at the London College of Music. He now works as a freelance drummer and percussionist, specialising in Flamenco, Jazz, Arabic, Latin and Pop music.
Current projects include Alec Dankworth & Spanish Accents, Nova Trio, Nicolas Meier, Jorge Bravo, Tito Heredia, Shirley Smart Trio, Martin ‘Youth’ Glover, Ben Hillier, Mel C, La Tipica contemporary Flamenco company, Maria Vega Dance company, Melange and Los Amigos Latin band. He has toured all over Europe, North Africa, and USA.
Demi regularly teaches Cajon and Flamenco Rhythms at Escuela Flamenco Londres (Flamenco dance School London).
